Welcome: Turtle Island Productions

Welcome to the new Turtle Island Productions website.

From creating "The Big Idea" to developing a workable production plan that brings it to life, Turtle Island Productions offers an imaginative stream of ideas together with seasoned skills in creating, writing, producing, and directing media communications.

TIP owner James M. Fortier brings over 25 years of production experience to every project including broadcast, cable, web, and corporate productions. Fortier, an enrolled tribal member of the Pic River Ojibway First Nation, Ontario; also specializes in documentary, dramatic, educational and informational video and web productions focusing on Native American and First Nation cultures, histories, stories, and contemporary issues. Dedicated to bringing Native American stories from a Native perspective to a wider audience, TIP has produced many award winning productions independently and in collaboration with Native American filmmakers from the U.S. and Canada.

Furthermore, be sure to check out our work in collaboration with Naqmayam Communications (Naqcom for short), a full service California Indian owned and operated public relations, marketing, and community outreach firm. Information about Naqcom can be found in the Native American section.

Please spend some time exploring our site for more details about past and current productions, our production services, work samples, including our Screening Room, our web production offerings, our work with American Indian and First Nations communities, as well as past and up to date press releases detailing new equipment, projects, and awards.

Miigwetch! (Thank You!)
